Organization of the mutual learning session (MLS) for policy makers in Krakow

13 of January, 2016 - AGENDA

Overview

Kraków organized its Mutual Learning Session in connection to the event planned by another municipal department (Department of Social Affairs and the office of Mayor’s Advisor of senior policy). As a result, the event consisted of two separate but complimentary issues: Cooperation with the network of the Senior Activity Centres (CAS) and the Mutual Learning Session within the SIforAGE project regarding mobility and transport.

It was addressed mostly to district councillors and NGO’s engaged in running Senior Activity Centres localized in the city of Kraków. The aim of the meeting was twofold. Firstly, the objective of the meeting was to present the SiforAGE project and the Mutual Learning Platform and to discus some questions important from a perspective of the idea of the project (active and healthy ageing) for Krakow's seniors. Secondly, the aim was to discuss some issues vivid for the city of Kraków and related to activity of seniors living in the city, i.e. functionality of the network of Senior Activity Centres and its possible cooperation with NGO's functioning in the field of ageing and with city districts.

The event was attended by 45 people representing 15 out of 18 city district councils, 6 Senior Activity Centres and 6 other organizations/institutions/NGO’s, including  representatives of the Council of Krakow's Seniors, Social Affaires Department of the city of Kraków, Municipal Centre of Social initiatives’ Support .

The Mutual Learning Platform seemed in general as an interesting tool, but  participants were not happy with some solutions applied to the platform (e.g. very poor translation). Participants were encouraged to register on the platform.
